Because of the recent gas leak and explosion at our plant in Marlborough, some of you have been approached by the local press to talk about working conditions. I felt it was a good time to reiterate our policy regarding such matters.
Our policy is simple. All contacts and queries will be referred either to my office or to the office of the President. No one is to speak for the company, or speak as an employee of United Manufacturing, except for myself or Mr. Greenberg. This includes all "off the record" inquiries.
We want to emphasize that we do not wish to cover anything up. But it is important, especially when there is the threat of lawsuits, that the company speak with a single voice. We will continue to cooperate with the authorities on this matter, and we feel that it is important that we all do our jobs as effectively as we can. We believe that this policy makes everyone's life easier.
